Pharmacokinetics of [123I]-Interferon (IFN) Alpha-A

A major concern in the pharmacological study of human interferons (IFNs) is its species specificity, which makes extrapolation from animal studies difficult. Even in the case of pharmacokinetic studies performed in patients, the data obtained were usually limited to seric concentration-time profiles. To characterize more directly the pharmacokinetic parameters of IFN alpha, we decided to perform the study of IFN concentration in whole blood and serum with the simultaneous determination of its dynamic distribution by scintigraphic counting.
