Preparation and Characterization of Sol-gel Spin Coated Aluminum Doped Zinc Oxide (AZO) Nano Rods

2018
Abstract Aluminum doped Zinc Oxide (AZO) nano rods with various aluminum contents were prepared by Sol-gel spin coating technique. The structural and topographical properties are studied respectively using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) technique and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Higher intensity Zinc Oxide (ZnO) peak (002) is observed in 1at.% Aluminum doped nano rods with 50Sec spin coated sample underwent 300°C of annealing temperature. Morphologic, Compositional and Crystallographic information of samples are predicted using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), the 600 nm long nano rods with an aspect ratio of 10 is obtained for 20 Sec and 50 Sec spin coating time. The AFM surface topography (2D & 3D images) of 1 at% aluminum doped nano rods exhibits a porous microstructure and the spherical crystalline particle size of approximately 24 ± 15 nm.
