Application of magnesium nitrate tail water in the regeneration in cationic ion exchanger in demineralized water system

2005
This article introduces the application of condensate containing magnesium nitrate with concentration of 3%~5%, the by-product from nitric acid plant, in regeneration of the cationic bed in the demineralized water system, which is technological breakthrough in the use of condensate from nitric acid production for the regeneration of cationic resin with strong acidity. The use of the waste liquor from nitric acid plant for the regeneration not only has advantages of saving hydrochloric acid for the regeneration and caustic soda needed in the tail water drainage, but also resolves the problems in environment protection, achieving certain economic returns and good social benefits.
