Study of Bcl-2 and Bax expression in laryngeal carcinoma and its clinical relationship

Objective: To study the relationship between expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in laryngeal carcinoma. Methods: Using monoclonal antibody for Bcl-2 and Bax gene protetin, 33 cases of laryngeal carcinoma were stained by SP immunohistochemistry. Results: The Bcl-2 and Bax positive rates of laryngeal carcinoma were 45.2% and 60.3% respectively. There was significant relationship between expression of Bcl-2 and that of Bax in laryngeal carcinoma. Conclusions: There is intimate relationship between abnormal expression of Bcl-2 and Bax and laryngeal carcinoma.
