Systematic workflow for runtime adaptation of Building Automation Systems
2015
Ubiquitous sensor actuator networks and other advanced technologies for Building Automation Systems (BAS) have contributed to the enhancement of building energy efficiency and occupant comfort. However, current BAS have developed very complex heterogeneous structures and require high cost and time effort for management, maintenance and retrofit actions. In particular, for situations regarding runtime system adaptation the course of action nowadays is situation-dependent as there is no comprehensive solution. Therefore, a generic system adaptation solution for typical reengineering use cases in BAS is required. In this paper, a systematic logical workflow is presented that provides a general solution applicable for all practical relevant system adaptation purposes of existing BAS. This approach is based on a thorough analysis of possible reengineering use cases and its applicability was tested on practical test site.
