A Cross Double-D Coil for Electric Vehicles Dynamic Wireless Transfer System to Reduce Output Power Pulsation

2020
This paper proposes a cross double-D (CDD) coil for an electric vehicles dynamic wireless power transfer (EV-DWPT) system, which can achieve steady output power and reduce magnetic leakage. This magnetic coupler consists of a cross snakelike Double-D (DD) coil-like sinusoidal variation in the part of the transmitter and a conventional DD coil in the part of the receiver. The working principle of the cross DD coil is analyzed in this paper. Meanwhile, the whole magnetic coupler parameters and circuit parameters are presented. The simulation results have been obtained by establishing the finite element analysis (FEA) model and circuit topology, which validate this structure can reduce output power pulsation.
