Serological survey of duck circovirus in meat duck farms from Shandong province

To investigate the prevalence of duck circovirus(DuCV) in Shandong province,a total of 1,130 serum samples collected from Weifang and Taian regions were tested by indirect ELISA for detection of antibodies to DuCV.The results indicated that DuCV-specific antibodies were detected in 338(29.91%) of 1,130 samples collected from 17 meat Cherry Valley duck farms aged from 25 to 40 days.The positive rates for each of the 17 farms ranged from 2% to 78%.The DuCV-positive rate of 42.81% in Weifang region was significantly higher than that in Taian region(17.73%),which indicated the higher prevalence of DuCV in duck farms of long-term farmed region.
