Primary study of immunology of ANP

1995
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is a kind of polypeptide hormones secreted fromheart myocytes which is isolated by De Bold in 1981. ANP possesses diuretic, natriuretic, and hypotensive activities and inhibits renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAA).α-ANP (99—126) consists of 28 amino acids and a disulfide bond linking Cysand Cys forms a cyclic core which comprises 17 residues. ANPs of different species arealmost identical. The only difference between α-hANP and α-rANP occurs at position 110where Met is for hANP while He is for rANP. rAPⅢ (103—126) (rat atriopeptin) is ashort natural form of rANP and has rather potent activities.
