C N formation reactions in water

Abstract This chapter provides the recent developments in organic chemistry to construct C N bonds especially toward the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. Literature reports are organized in terms of catalysts used to achieve these products, namely homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. Emphasis is given to describe the catalyst structure, reaction mechanism, widespread synthesis of C N coupled products in water, and heterogeneous catalyst stability in repeated number of cycles under reaction conditions.
