COMPARATIVE STUDY OF SELECTED PHYSICAL FITNESS COMPONENT OF GOVERNMENT AND NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOOL BOYS

This study was designed to investigate the comparison of selected physical fitness components among Govt. & Non-govt. school boys. A sample of 60 players, 16-18 years of age group has been selected randomly from both groups. In which 30 subjects were Govt. school students and 30 subjects were Non-govt. school students. Only three physical fitness components (Cardiovascular endurance, Muscular endurance & Explosive strength) were taken. The mean & S.D for Cardiovascular endurance of Govt. school boys 2412.66/153.88 and Non-govt. school boys were 2311.8/84.77. Whereas mean & S.D for Muscular endurance of Govt. school boys 17.76/2.50 and Non-govt. school boys were 16.33/1.34 respectively. The mean & S.D for Explosive strength of Govt. school boys 2.00/0.20 and Non-govt. school boys were 1.88/0.19 .The statistical analysis revealed that there is no significant difference in Cardiovascular endurance, Muscular endurance & Explosive strength of Govt. & Non-govt. school boys.
