Hard magnetic materials in pulsed fields

Abstract A direct determination of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy field ( H A ) of various polycrystalline materials of the type Nd 2 Fe 14 B, Sm 2 Fe 17 C x , Sm 2 Fe 17 N x and R(Fe, T) 12 by using the singular-point-detection technique in the temperature range from 4.2 K up to the Curie temperature is demonstrated. Some recent results on determining the critical first order magnetization process (FOMP) field ( H cr ) using the same technique are also presented.
