Conceptual Review on Sybil Attack in Vehicular Adhoc Networks

2020
Vehicular Ad-hoc network is new and emerging technology. Researchers are ahead interest in this technology. Due to its open nature it is in danger to various attacks. Sybil attack is one of them. In vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), the trade-off among privacy and authentication leads to a harmful type of network attack called Sybil attack. The demanding is to avoid and detect such attack without compromising user (vehicle) privacy. In Vehicular message, the security system against the attacker is very essential. Sybil attacks have been regarded as a serious security danger to ad hoc networks and sensor networks. It is an attack in which an original identity of the vehicle is besmirched or theft by an attacker to creates multiple fake identities. Detecting such type of attacker and the original vehicle is a demanding task in VANET. This survey paper briefly presents various Sybil attack detection system in VANET.
