Comparison of Excel and SAS applications in biostatistics

The features and problems of Excel and SAS applications in biostatistics are analyzed.The statistical graph in Excel software is artistic,and the fx function can give the result directly;the formula editor is practical.But there is inconsistent between the fx and "Data analysis",and it must need to insert "Microsoft Office" initial disk when installing "Data analysis".Excel cannot carry on multiple comparisons and analyze high-level experimental result.SAS provides a set of ready-to-use solutions,applications,and tools.The interface is direct viewing,and the program editor is patternizing.As compared with Excel,SAS is relatively troublesome and complex.The opinion of selecting different statistical software according to research purpose is put forward.
