Evaluación de la satisfacción personal en estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad El Bosque, de tercero a décimo semestre para el periodo 2018-II

2020
Introduction: Satisfaction is key in student life, and is affected by positive or negative factors and experiences. This information is unknown in Colombian medical students. The objective was to measure the degree of satisfaction in medical students of Universidad El Bosque, characterize them demographically and relate satisfaction with variables. Methods: Observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study, applying the Student Multidimensional Vital Satisfaction Scale (MSSLS) and determining 10 variables. Survey population of 404 students from third to tenth semester, aged 18 to 28 years old, employed in October 2018, and through IBM-SPSS Statistics, standard deviations were determined and relationships and associations with their respective tests of significance. Results: The majority of the population is satisfied (84.7%), and satisfaction is directly proportional to the grade point average (p = 0.00. 95% CI: -0.282 to -0.086), inversely proportional to the mobilization time from the house to the rotation site (p = 0.00. 95% CI: 29.48 to 57.01) and from the rotation site to the house (p = 0.00, 95% CI: 14.99 to 50,95), third semester is more satisfied (p = 0.036), sixth semester is more dissatisfied (p = 0.000) and those rotating in Chia (p = 0.009) and Soacha (p = 0.000) are more dissatisfied. Conclusions: The degree of global satisfaction is affected by the grade point average, mobilization times, semester, and rotation site. This suggests that it is worth investigating and intervening in these determining factors.
