Evaluation of improved babchi (Psoralea corylifolia) genotypes with high psoralen content.

The field experiment was conducted to evaluate the babchi genotypes for psoralen content under Akola agroclimatic conditions. Among the ten genotypes tested, the maximum seed yield was obtained with genotype IC111228 followed by IC111226 and 1C111238. The maximum oleoresinous extract was obtained with ICI 11226 followed by ICI11239 and ICI 11246. The psoralen content was also found highest in genotype ICI 11228, however, it was at par with IC111238 and IC111249.
