A Study on the Influence of Zinc Chloride Catalyst about the Size and Morphology of Nanometer Iron Oxide

Fe8(OOH)16Cl1.3was prepared by hydrothermal reaction of zinc chloride and iron chloride solution at 140℃ for 12 hours via changing the reaction solvent in the paper.The size and morphology of the product were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results showed that the product size was changing as this: 250 nm→200 nm→100 nm,when the reaction solvent was pure water→water/ethanol→water/glycol,respectively.Meanwhile,the influence of product's size with the use of zinc chloride catalyst was probed.
