Ultrasonography diagnosis of cervical pregnancy

2007
Objective: To evaluate the value of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of cervical pregnancy and to analyze the reasons for diagnostic errors. Methods: Ultrasonography was performed in 7 patients with cervical pregnancy by multi-sectiones. Attention was paid to view the uterus, ovaries and the tissue of lateral spherical aberration. The sonography features of two-dimensional ultrasonography and color Doppler of cervical pregnancy were analyzed. The sonographic results were correlated with surgical and pathologic findings. Results: Among the 7 cases, Preoperative ultrasonography prompted cervical pregnancy in 5 cases, while the other 2 cases were diagnostic errors. Conclusions: Ultrasonography plays an important role in the diagnosis of cervical pregnancy. A combined use of transvaginal and per abdominal ultrasonography can improve the accuracy rate of diagnosis.
