Clinical and Pathological Features of Lupus Nephritis With Hypertension

2008
Objective Hypertention is not only one of the common complications of lupus nephritis(LN), but also an independent risk factor accelerates the development to end stage renal disease. We summarize the clini- cal and pathological features of lupus nephritis with hypertension(n=30)and without hypertension(n=51),and indentify independent risk factors of hypertention.Method Clinical features, laboratory examination and patho- logical findings of patients of lupus nephritis with or without hypertension were studied restropectively. Results The incidence of hypertention was 37.0%.There were significant differences of proteinuria, renal functions,hy- peruricacidemia, hemoglobin, active and chronicity index between patients with or without hypertension.Pa- tients with hypertension were more likely to be male,age≥45 years,duration≥1 year and those with family histo- ry of hypertention, serum creatinine≥133 μmol/L,proteinuria ≥2 g/24 h,tubular interstitial index≥5,glomer- ulosclerasis index≥1 and more severity in arteriole hypertrophy. Conclusion Hypertention is a common com- plication of LN.LN co-existed hypertension is associated with more severe in both clinical manifestations and re- nal pathology.
