The Effect of Endotracheal Suctioning on Lung Ventilation and Respiratory System Compliance of Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Undergoing Different Mechanical Ventilation mode

2010
To discuss the effect of endotracheal suctioning on lung ventilation and respiratory system compliance of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome undergoing different ventilation mode .20 patients fulfilling criteria were divided into group A/C and group SIMV randomly .Date of lung ventilation and respiratory system compliance was recorded before and after opening suctioning. Respiratory rate and minute volume in SIMV group increased more (SIMV group vs A/C group,P0.01).The changes of respiratory system compliance have no statistical significance between the two ventilation modes. Opened suctioning induced the increase of respiratory rate; first the tidal volume and minute volume decreased then increased. Respiratory rate and ventilation capacity were increased more in SIMV group in comparison with A/C group.
