Coarse particle flow behavior in draft tube of spouted bed

Spouted bed is an efficient reactor for handling the coarse particle materials.In order to mea-sure the instantaneous particle flow in draft tube of spouted bed,PIV system was applied.The instantaneous axial and radial velocity distributions and turbulence law of particle were obtained.The particle velocity is symmetrical in draft tube,and high in the central region and low in the region near the wall of tube.As the air velocity increasing,the velocity of particle increases.The turbulence intensity is higher in the centre than near the wall.The turbulence intensity is always high and the heat and mass transfer between the air and grain phase are enhanced.
