Trypsin-Modulating Oostatic Factor

2016
Abstract Trypsin-modulating oostatic factor (TMOF) inhibits de novo trypsin biosynthesis in the midgut and indirectly inhibits oocyte maturation. TMOFs are isolated from the gray flesh fly Neobellieria bullata and the mosquito Aedes aegypti , but these two TMOFs show no significant sequence similarity. N. bullata TMOF also inhibits the biosynthesis of ecdysone by the ring gland.
