Synthesis of “Reversed” Nucleosides of Some Purine and Pyrimidine Bases

The title compounds have been synthesized by condensation of terminal iodo-sugars with purine bases and pyrimidine bases in dime thy lformamide in the presence of sodium hydride or lithiu a hydride.
