ADAPTAÇÃO E VALIDAÇÃO DE UMA VERSÃO PORTUGUESA DA VOCATIONAL IDENTITY SCALE 1 ADAPTATION, AND VALIDATION OF A PORTUGUESE VERSION OF THE VOCATIONAL

The aim of this research, divided into three studies, was to adapt the Vocational Identity Scale (VIS) to Portuguese. The research, carried out with samples of secondary ( n = 235) and higher education students ( n = 208), involved the translation of the scale and the analysis of its psychometric characteristics. Acceptable levels of internal consistency were obtained. The convergent validity of the VIS was assessed based on the correlations between vocational identity, on the one hand, and career indecision and self-esteem, on the other.
