The invention relates to an intelligent socket based on network control and a socket control method. The intelligent socket comprises a processor, a wireless transparent transmission module, a relay, a socket body and a power supply. The processor is connected with the wireless transparent transmission module through a serial port, and the wireless transparent transmission module receives on-off control information sent by a user client-side through an external server and sends the on-off control information to the processor. The processor is connected with the control end of the relay, and the processor controls on-off of the relay according to the on-off control information. The input end of the relay and the output end of the relay are connected with a live wire of the alternating-current power supply. The input end of the power supply is connected with external alternating-current commercial power, the output end of the power supply is connected with the power supply end of the processor, and the power supply converts the external alternating-current commercial power to electricity used by the processor so as to supply electricity to the processor. According to the intelligent socket, a network is used for controlling electrical equipment connected with the intelligent socket, the defect that a traditional socket must be controlled by people manually in a close range is overcome, and the function that turning-on and turning-off of the electrical equipment are controlled through the network remotely is achieved.
