Effect of an extract of cannabis and of some cannabinols on catecholamine metabolism in rat brain and heart

1970
An extract of cannabis and its major component Δ9 (THC) had no effect on the endogenous noradrenaline content or on the uptake of3H-noradrenaline in the heart. Similarly these two drugs had no effect on the endogenous content of noradrenaline and dopamine in the brain. They enhanced the formation of3H-dopamine and to a lesser extent that of3H-noradrenaline in the brain after an intravenous injection of3H-tyrosine. Δ6a, 10a-THC had less pronounced effects in this tissue.
