Estimativa da produtividade de frutos de uma população de pequi (Caryocar Brasiliense camb.,caryocaraceae)

2017
The pequi (Caryocar brasiliense Camb.) is one of the native species widely consumed by the rural population in the Cerrado region and during the harvest can be found in fairs and markets. Peak extractivism provides extra income to many small farmers. The objective of this work was to estimate the productivity of pequi fruit pulp in the years 2013 and 2014, in the Marcia Cordeiro Leite settlement, Planaltina, DF. Sixty trees were marked in the first year and 54 trees in the second, measuring the trunk diameter at 30 cm from the soil to calculate the basal area of each tree; All the fruits were counted. A total of 100 (2013) and 60 (2014) fruits were collected, of which the weight of the whole fruit and one of the putamens (in the case of the fruits with more than one). The putamen height, width and length were measured for volume estimation. The thickness of the pulp was measured using a pachymeter and the total pulp volume estimated using the formula: (4 / 3π (ab + ac + bc)) n, where a, b, c are height, width and length of putamen respectively and n = thickness of the pulp. The regression analyzes 4 between basal area and fruit production were significant for the year 2013 only, although only 24% of the fruit production was explained by the basal area of the plant.Fruit production had great variation amongplants and between years. The total volume of pulp produced in the first year was 0.0043 m3 and 0.0032 m3 in the second year. The marketing of pequi pulp is valued at around R $ 32.00 / kg, which would bring an income of R $ 1,278.08 and R $ 2,538.88 in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
