Apparatus and method for grouping application program in visual display terminal

PURPOSE: Device and method for configuring a folder of an application program in an image display device are provided to easily search a necessary application program by modifying a configuration method of an application program folder according to folder configuration modification even information in the image display device. CONSTITUTION: When a configuration of an idle screen is determined, an image display device confirms a folder configuration method (301,303). The image display device configures an application program folder according to the confirmed folder configuration method (305). When a folder configuration modification even is generated, the image display device confirms a folder configuration method to be modified (307,309). The image display device modifies configuration of the application program according to the confirmed folder configuration method (311).
