Development of Energy Saving&Efficiency Increasing Technology for Transmission Lines

The technology of energy saving and efficiency improvement is required by UHV grids and smart grids.After comparison between related researches and developments both in China and abroad,directions are recommended in order to greatly improve the power transmission capacity and efficiency of power transmission corridors.In addition to applications of UHV transmission technology,large area-bundled conductor technology and large capacity uprating conductor technology,as well as other new energy saving and efficiency improvements in materials and technologies,are also worth attention.Combined with new technologies such as OPGW sectional insulation and optical online monitoring,some new conductor materials including aluminium conductors with aluminium alloy reinforced,medium strength aluminium alloy and formed conductors,can be used to promote conductor upgrade and manufacturing progress.
