A Design of Fuzzy-PID Controller for the Magnetic Bearing System

The five degree freedom magnetic bearing was researched and its structure and working principles were introduced.The Fuzzy-PID nonlinear controller of the magnetic bearing system was designed by analyzing the system control remands.The Fuzzy-PID nonlinear controller could avoid the opening loop instability and strong nonlinearity of the magnetic bearing system.Comparative analysis experiments were conducted between linear PID and nonlinear fuzzy-PID control methods,the experimental results show that the fuzzy-PID controller has a better response characteristics and dynamic characteristics.The rotary precision experiments of the five-freedom magnetic bearing were conducted by the fuzzy-PID controller,it satisfied the control rotary precision remands and realized the steady floating and rotating of the bearing.
