C6 α-olefin oligomers as feedstock for additives and oils

2002
The results of studies of oligomterization of C 6 α-olefins in the presence of aluminum chloride and different alkyl-, alkenylaromatic, and carbocyclic compounds are generalized. By altering the conditions of oligomarization and the nature of the C 6 α-olefin hydrocarbons, viscosity additives and petroleum oil components, as well as synthetic base oils and feedstock for polyfunctional additives can be manufactured. The oligomerization conditions are a function of the concrete requirements for the quality of the synthesized compounds.
