On the curve and impedance-wall improvement of quad-ridged horn in the application of compact range simulation

Abstract The ridge curve profile and impedance wall configuration is of great importance for the wideband feed performance improvement. This paper addressed a new design of ridge curve and impedance wall structure to eliminate the negative effect caused by the side-lobe of the feed, especially in the lower frequency. Therefore, the mutual coupling between transmitter and receiver has been reduced so that the Quiet Zone performance is enhanced. The simulations results were demonstrated and corresponding conclusions were obtained.
