CONMEMORACIÓN DEL PRIMERO DE MAYO EN LAS TUNAS. DE LUCHAS OBRERAS A TRADICIÓN FESTIVA POPULAR: CONMEMORACIÓN DEL PRIMERO DE MAYO EN LAS TUNAS

This article is based on some of the difficulties in dealing with the repercussions of the May Day commemorations in the territory of Las Tunas, as a sample of what happens in a similar way in other Cuban regions. On this basis, the objective is to analyze, from a totalizing and integrating perspective, the international and national historical antecedents that make it possible to delve into the peculiarities of the commemoration of this event in terms of its transcendentality. It is based on conceptual theoretical references related to the ceremoniality and political rituality of this type of festival. For this, testimonial and periodic sources of each historical period, updated bibliography on the subject and the author's experience are reviewed. As a result, it is demonstrated how these celebrations in the Las Tunas territory affect the symbolic complex, the network of identities and their transition towards more modern forms of manifestation of collective identities.
