Alternative Syntheses of (S)-Ketoprofen Based on Dimethyl L-Tartrate

Abstract Two alternative asymmetric syntheses of (S) ketoprofen, starting from 3-benzylpropiophenone or 3 propionylbenzophenone and dimethyl L-tartrate as chiral auxiliary, are described.
