Design of Frequency-Reconfigurable UWB Filtenna with Independently Controllable Two Rejected Bands

2021
In this paper, a frequency reconfigurable ultrawideband (UWB) filtenna with dual bandnotch at LTE 2.6 GHz and 5G 3.5 GHz bands is reported. The proposed structure is composed of a printed planar UWB radiation element and a filtering section. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line connected to an 50Ω SMA connector. The reconfigurable rejected bands were obtained by printing two Capacitively Loaded Loops (CLLs) on the both edge sides of the feeding line with different dimensions. By loading a switch in each CLL element, the notched bands become easily controllable. Hence the frequency reconfigurability is triggered. The filtenna, which was accomplished through organically combining radiator and filtering structures exhibit good results and the simulated results in terms of return loss, radiation patters, gain and surface current have been presented and discussed.
