Assessment of the Feasibility of Rural Biogas Systems

Rational and effective diffusion of biogas technology (BGT) has to be preceded by objective, well-founded feasibility assessments. These assessments should include such pertinent aspects as: market analysis; technical feasibility; investment and production costs; financial appraisal; and socio-economic cost-benefit analysis. This paper attempts to present a preliminary exposition of these facets as well as certain prospective techniques recommended for tackling them.
