Space as a field of the possibility for inclusion of tourism in rural settlements.

The study of the culture in the settlements Gleba XV de Novembro and Nova Pontal, both located in the rural municipality of Rosana/SP, concerns the relevance of this for the development of rural tourism. Is to consider them important to the social and economic development of the community involved. Propose to understand tourism through a case study, a descriptive and exploratory, with the study of literature and by using semi-structured interviews. The subjects were the masters of the Folia of Reis and the Roda of Viola, as well as the managers of the Municipality, the Engineer Sergio Motta and Museu of Memoria Regional. Found that the culture of the settlers is underlying to the process of local development and revealed that his recovery through the practice of tourism is of great value to protect the way of life, their customs and knowledge, strengthening their selfesteem and enabling aggregate income.
