The Wavelet Transform Border Effect in EEG Spike Signals

2013
This paper presents how the signal interpretation outside the convolution window by Wavelet Transform (WT) may lead researchers to invalid results when extracting features from electroencephalographic (EEG) spike signals. The border interpretation may produce data that conflicts with desired data and normally it is not taken into account. This work explains the wavelet calculation and its convolution and how the border extension affects the final result and how to avoid these effects.
