This is the preface to the "New Interpretation of Selective Fables in all Dynasties" written by the author.This paper discusses the history of the development of Chinese ancient fables,explains the origin and meaning of the word "fable" and analyzes the respective features of the topics and thoughts in the fables in different eras,with focus on the features of the fables in the era of XianQin.Through the paper,the theories in fables are also introduced.
