A Novel Miniaturized Cylindrically Conformal E-shaped PIFA Antenna Application on Missile

This paper presents a novel miniaturized cylindrically conformal E-shaped Inverted F-antenna (PIFA) in VHF band for the application on missile. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on Teflon substrate with dielectric constants 2.08 and it is fed by a coaxial probe. The placement of feeding is optimized to obtain superior performance. The electrical size of antenna is compact with $0.245 \lambda_{0}\times 0.14\lambda_{0}\times 0.029 \lambda_{0}$ and it achieves 7.9% 3-VSWR bandwidth. The radiation pattern has acceptable shape with greater than 0.3 dBi gain in operating frequencies.
