The synthesis and characterization of novel merat(l l) 4.4'A".4'''-tctra-methoxyphenylimino substituted phthalocyanines (Ml mf'c) or copperrl l), cobaht l l). nickel(II) and zinct ll) by condensing the 4.4',4".4·"-tctra amino phthalocyunines with anisaldehyde are described.
The dark bluish green colored tetraimino substituted phrhalocyaninc dcrivuuvcs are characterized by various physico-chemical techniques. elemental analysis, magnetic
susceptibility. electronic. and IR spectra. powder X-ray diffraction and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) to check the structural Integrity and purity. The variuuons or magnetic moment as a function or lield strength indicated the presence or intermolecular co-operative interactions. The complexes are also evaluated for their antifungal and
antibacterial activities.
