Activación metabólica producida por fracciones de Zea mays

espanolEn el presente trabajo, se estudian las caracteristicas y la capacidad de activa cion metabolica de tres fracciones diferentes (S2, S9 y S14) de Zea mays. Los resul tados muestran que dichas fracciones presentan niveles de proteinas y de actividad peroxidasa similares. Asimismo, las tres fracciones son capaces de incrementar el potencial mutagenico de la 4-nitro-o-fenilendiamina y de activar al 2-aminofluoreno, en el test de Ames. Estos resultados permitiran la sustitucion de la fraccion S2 por las fracciones S9 o SI4, lo cual es especialmente interesante en ensayos colorimetricos como la induccion de genes SOS, ya que hemos observado claras interfe rencias (fundamentalmente turbulencia y color) al incorporar la fraccion S2 a este Upo de ensayos. EnglishIn this work, the characteristics and the metabolic activation by three different fractions (S2,S9 and SI4) fromZeamays,are studied. Results show that these fracuons nave similar protein level and peroxidaseactivity. Furthermore, the three frac tions are able to enhance the mutagenicity of4-nitro-o-phenylenediamine and to ac tivate 2-aminolluorene in the Ames test. This results will allow to use S9 and S14 fractions instead of S2. This, is especially interesting when these fractions are applied in colorimetric assays, because the incorporation ofS2 fractions gave interferences such as colour and turbidity.
