WHEELS FOR LARGE SIZE TIRES

Abstract : This article describes unique features of wheels for large size tires used on heavy duty trucks and truck tractors. The technical characteristics of the large size tires and wheels and the different vehicles on which they are used are described. The wheels for large size tires are made with widened rims and beveled fitting edges which are more reliable and long lived and cheaper to manufacture than ordinary wheels. Large size tires are mounted and removed in the same manner as ordinary tires, except that air is let out of them before the wheel is removed from the hub.
