Deporte y Trastorno Mental Grave. El caso de LIGASAME y otras iniciativas en España

This paper is divided into two parts. The first part, aims to be an instrument to approach the concept of sport and its inclusive potential, from a journey through its terminological definition, evolution and current conception, which allows us to understand sports as a means of transforming reality. The second part of the text presents a very specific initiative such as LIGASAME, a league for mental health aimed at people with severe mental disorders (hereinafter TMG) ​​that was developed 15 years ago in the Community of Madrid and where psychosocial rehabilitation resources from the care network for people with severe mental illness and family associations. This league is part of a larger initiative such as SPORTSAME, composed of professionals from different fields (psychologists, social workers, social educators, occupational therapists) and also develops other sports (tennis, table tennis, chess, basketball, hiking, orientation, paddle, rugby ...) as a means of recovery and active fight against stigma. The text ends with a brief reflection of other similar programs that exists in other Autonomous Communities and intends to use sport as an instrument of psychosocial rehabilitation.
