Assessing UK industry's Inventory Management Performance

The aim of this paper is to lay out the facts, so far as they are known, about industrial stockholding; from this we discuss whether the UK's performance in managing a key area of the country's scarce resources is one in which we can take pride or, as this paper suggests, if the contrary is the case and our competence must be questioned.
