Diagnosis of medium voltage cable systems by means of partial discharge and dissipation factor measurements

Medium voltage cable systems represent a valuable part of the electrical distribution network. Diagnosis of these systems is reasonable to optimise costs and reliability. This paper gives some background on diagnosis, discusses some of the methods that are available and details some practical on-site situations together with the results.
