Radiation inspection methods for composites

1988
Abstract Radiography and ultrasonics are the generally selected methods for non-destructive inspection of fibre-reinforced polymer composites used in high-performance applications such as aircraft and space structures. As a result of their application and adaptation in this field, both methods have taken on a number of new aspects. Some of the advances in radiographic inspection techniques are reviewed here, together with the various criteria affecting their use in a particular situation. Examples of composites radiography by several different methods are presented.
