Duodenal Lipoma Related Gastrointestinal Tract Bleeding: Report of a Case
2013
Lipomas in gastrointestinal (GI) tract are rare, especially in the duodenum. It is often asymptomatic and rarely a source of upper GI bleeding. We present a case of a 57-year-old man who had intermittent tarry stool. Panendoscopy showed a wide base mass in the secondary portion of duodenum with oozing blood. Finally it was removed by surgical excision and was proved to be a lipoma. We review the characteristics, diagnostic procedures and managements of lipomas in GI tract.
