The Effect of the Addition of Rosehip Extract to Permanent Wave Product by Type

This study aims to understand the effect of the addition of Rosehip extract with the property of anti-oxidation on hair. To know the effectiveness, this study measured the level of hair damage and the hair waving efficiency by adding 15% and 20% of Rosehip extract to permanent waving products by type. As a result, it is shown that the addition of Rosehip extract to the permanence waving product containing cysteine improves the waving efficiency while the addition to the permanence waving product containing thioglycolate reduces the efficiency. However, judging from the test results of moisture content, tensile strength, tensile ductility, and cuticle, it was confirmed that the permanent wave treatment with cysteine does lower hair damage than that with thioglycolate and the addition of Rosehip extract to both products had positive effect on hair treatment. Therefore, this study was able to propose the addition as proper method to improve hair waving. But this study showed various effect on hair due to the diversification of hair thickness by person and different effect by applied part. So it has limitation in precisely measuring the style of waving and the level of damage. This limitation qualifies more studies to follow upon more types of hair through clinical tests.
