In view of environmental problems of highway during service-period and the practice of Datong-Yuncheng expressway in Shanxi province the question that how to realize sustainable development for the construction and maintenance of highway is discussed in depth.In addition,according to the coordinate development among highway construction,environmental resources and economic development considerations are made in order to ensure sustainable development of highway.
