A Genetic Study on Microdeletion of Azoospermia Factor Region on Y Chromosome of Azoospermia and Oligozoospermia Male Patients

2008
To investigate the genetic causes of azoospermia and severe oligozoo spermia and create genetic diagnosis method of the microdeletions on the Y chromosome,We chosen ten Y-linked sequence tagged sites in AZF region which were divided into 4 groups and screened by multiplex PCR in 89 idiopathic oligospermia or zaoospermia patients.Microdeletions in the genomic DNA were observed in 7 of the 89 cases, the total deletion rate was 7.87%.Among them,4 cases had single site deletions, and 3 cases had multiplex sites deletions. The results indicate Y chromosome microdeletion is one of the causes which result in male spermatogenetic obstacle and multiplex PCR is a valid technique for detection of microdeletions on Y chromosome.
